Albert Louden was born on December 28, 1932, in Nyack, New York, as the only child of Agnes Muir Strain and Albert Louden. He served as a veteran of the Korean War in the United States Navy aboard the USS Carpellotti, where he earned the National Defense Service Medal and the Navy Occupation Service Medal. His duties included serving as a fireman for the ship and playing the trumpet. He was a member of American Legion Post #1682 in New City, NY and a Member of the Korean War Vets Association.
He married the woman he was in love with, Mildred Konz, on January 2, 1954, in Pearl River, NY and they raised their family in New City, NY where they stayed until retirement. After retirement Al and Millie spent an idyllic 23 years in Livingston Manor, NY with their dogs, feeding their fish, deer, birds and watching the wildlife and Yankees games. Al loved digging holes with his backhoe, working on his 23 acres, and cutting his 5-acre field with his tractor. He also loved riding through his woods on his 4-wheeler.
Al cherished people and made sure they knew they mattered. He loved to talk to anyone and never turned down a chance to slow dance with his wife.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew him, but especially by his family who loved him more than words can say. Albert had a gift for making sure they all felt special, important and loved. Al is survived by his wife of 71-years, Millie, as well as the family they built together, their four: children Donna Butson and her husband George, Debra Rydlewski and her husband Michael, Bonnie Recine and her husband William, and Kenneth and his wife Aileen; their fourteen grandchildren: Kristen Coyle and her husband Steven, Carolyn Bell and her husband David, Lauren Butson, Derrick Rydlewski and his wife Kara, Darren Rydlewski, Brittany Starke and her husband Matthew, Sarah Titak and her husband Bernard, Karl Recine, Deanna Recine, Nicole Sforza and her husband Nicholas, Leland Parkinson and his wife Elizabeth, Victoria Parkinson, Olivia Louden, and Kenneth Louden Jr; and their twelve great-grandchildren.
Al leaves a legacy of love and hard work that will survive another 90 plus years as his family carries his heart for people forward into the future in his name.
