

Antonio J. Caseres of Bogota, NJ passed away peacefully at his home on August 7, 2012. He was 88 years old. Antonio was born in Ciego De Avila, Cuba on February 17, 1924 to Salvador Caseres and Eleuteria Alvarez. Antonio was a resident of Bogota, NJ for the past 16 years and prior to that, resided in New York City. He married Mercedes in Cuba on February 14, 1959, and then came to the US on January 14, 1971. Antonio was an avid gardener and took great pride in his flowers and growing vegetables. His greatest joy came from spending time with his children and grandchildren. He took great pride and satisfaction in watching his grandsons play baseball. Antonio is survived by his son, Jose and his wife Patricia, and daughter Maria Caseres, all of New City, NY; three sisters and a younger brother who all live in Cuba, and his younger sister, Eloisa Henriquez, who resides in Florida. He is also survived by his four loving grandchildren: Steven, Kathryn, Marlene, and Michael. The Caseres family will receive friends today, Thursday August 9th, from 2-4 & 7-9pm at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Home in New City, NY. Mass of Christian Burial will be held tomorrow, Friday August 10th, at 11:15am at St. Francis of Assisi Church in West Nyack, NY followed by entombment at Garden of Memories in Paramus, NJ.
