Bernadette Blumenfeld

Bernadette Ann Blumenfeld (Nee McWade), 76, of Waretown, New Jersey, formerly of New City, New York passed away on May 20, 2011 after a short illness. She was the daughter of Christopher and Cecelia McWade born in the Bronx, New York. She resided in New City for 42 years before moving to Waretown, New Jersey in 2002. She was a graduate of Walton High School in the Bronx, New York. She and her husband Donald Blumenfeld were married for 57 loving years. Mrs. Blumenfeld retired as an administrative assistant for the Internal Revenue Service. She was a strong loving woman who loved passionately, especially her husband Donald. In addition to her husband Donald, she is survived by her daughter Donna McLendon and her husband Michael; and her four sons Michael and his wife Betty Blumenfeld; Thomas Blumenfeld; James and his wife Jeanine Blumenfeld; Robert and his wife Julie Blumenfeld. She adored her role as "Nana" and is also survived by her ten devoted grandchildren Andrew, Shaun, Kaitlyn, Lindsay, Robert, Tyler, Laura, Theresa, Caroline and James. Also surviving are her two sisters Cecilia Murray and Kathleen Pizutti and three brothers William, Frank, and Peter McWade as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Mary Engel and brother Christopher McWade.

Family may receive friends on Tuesday and Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 at Higgins Funeral Home in New City, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, May 26, 2011 at 10:15 am at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 128 Parrott Road, West Nyack, NY.
