Catherine M. Hayden

Catherine “Kay” Hayden passed away April 21, 2016 with her loving family by her side. She was born in Yonkers, NY on March 31, 1932 to Francis and Margaret Hackett. Kay is predeceased by her loving husband Hank of 59 years and her loving brother Robert.

Kay and her family moved to New City, NY in May of 1958. She was an avid sports fan of the NY Mets and the NY Giants football team. She loved to attend her grandchildren’s sporting events. Kay also enjoyed her many years of league bowling, trips to Wildwood and Atlantic City, swimming in her pool, her cat Meow, her grandson’s dog Shea, and being with her family.

Kay is survived by her loving sister Margaret (Thomas) Walter of Wyomissing, PA, loving daughter-in-law Patricia Hayden of Garnerville, NY, her loving children Kenneth (Victoria) of Bayonne, NJ, Richard (Diana) of Campbell Hall, NY, Thomas (Cynthia) of Mahwah, NJ, Robert (Barbara) of Blauvelt, NY, Kathleen of Tappan, NY, and James (Linda) of Palisades, NY. She will be missed dearly by her 17 grandchildren: Kevin, Michael, Daniel, Christine, Ryan, Jeffrey, Scott, Christopher, Brian, Thomas, Glenn, Amanda, Robert, Matthew, Eric, Gregory and Emily; and her 11 great grandchildren: Connor, Kieran, Riley, Scarlett Rose, Jonathan, Dylan, Dean, Kyle, Christopher, Eddie and Valerie.

Family may receive friends on Sunday from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at Higgins Funeral Home in New City, NY. Religious Services will be held on Monday, 11am, at the funeral home followed by interment at Frederick Loescher Cemetery, Brick Church Road, Spring Valley, NY.
