
David Killen, 67, of New City, passed away peacefully, on Monday, February 7th, surrounded by his family. He was loved dearly and will be greatly missed. His sense of humor and devotion to his family will always be remembered. David was born on October 7, 1943 in the Bronx, NY, the son of John and Catherine Killen. He attended Christopher Columbus High School and graduated in 1962. He served in the United States Army from 1965 to 1967. David worked as a bus driver for the Liberty Lines bus company for 34 years and retired in 2006. In 1976, he married his loving wife, Barbara. David was a proud resident of the Bronx, and Yonkers, NY. He and his family moved to New City in 1988. He loved all genres of music, getting together with family and friends and vacationing at the Jersey Shore in the summertime. He is survived by his wife, Barbara of New City, and daughters Melissa and husband Robert Howard of the Bronx, Colette and husband John Egan of Ramsey, NJ, and Cathy of New City, his grandchildren, whom he adored, Laci, Matthew, Vincent and Robert and his siblings, sister Carol and husband Vaughn Bryant, and brother Richard Killen. He is predeceased by his brother Bruce Killen.
Visitation will be at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Home in New City, NY on Thursday, February 10th from 2-4 & 7-9, and Friday, February 11th from 2-4 and 7-9. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Church in West Nyack, NY on Saturday, February 12th at 10:15am. David will be laid to rest at the Fredrick W. Loescher Veterans Memorial Cemetery in New Hempstead, NY.
