

Dominick Philip Caiazzo of New City, New York passed away on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 after a long battle with lung disease. He was born on February 14, 1932 in Queens, New York and worked as a Construction Supervisor for Edward Robbins Construction Corporation for 40 years. Dominick proudly served with honor in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. He received the Combat Action Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal with two stars, United Nations Service Medal and Korean War Service Medal.
Dominick married the love of his life, Margaret (Peggy) McCarthy on May 14, 1955 at St. Francis DeSalles Church in Manhattan, New York. They shared 42 wonderful years together prior to her passing on January 10, 1998. Dominick is survived by his five children. His son Dominick Caiazzo and his wife Marian, his daughter Deborah Caiazzo, his daughter Jean Chase and her husband Robert, his daughter Maureen Napoletano and her husband Dan, and his son Kenneth Caiazzo and his wife Lorraine. He is also the proud Grandfather (Pop) of ten grandchildren, Jennifer, Dominick, Matthew, Franco, Brett, Anthony, Amanda, Patrick, Gianna and Joseph. Dominick is also survived by his siblings, Anthony Caiazzo and Georgette Misa.
The family will be accepting visitors on Saturday, September 8, 2012 from 5-8pm and Sunday, September 9, 2012 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at Higgins Funeral Home at 321 South Main Street in New City, New York. A mass of Christian burial will take place at 10am on September 10, 2012 at St. Augustine’s Church in New City, New York. Burial to follow at St. Anthony’s Cemetery in Nanuet, New York. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Lung Association. The family would like to thank the New City Ambulance Corps and the entire staff at Good Samaritan Hospital. We would also like to thank Dr. Meir Malmazada and Dr. Michael Innerfield for their outstanding care and dedication that they gave to our father.
