Donna was born in the Bronx New York to Dominic Merante and Jenny Zema Medrante. She grew up in Yonkers New York where she attended Sacred Heart high school.
She survived by her sister C. Joann Liggio, her husband of 47 years Fraj Lazreg and her two children Chadley Lazreg and Sonia Lazreg of New City, New York andher two nephews Christopher Liggio and Michael Liggio.
She knew early in life that she wanted to become a nurse and volunteered as a candy stripe girl at St. John’s Riverside Hospital in Yonkers. She joined Cochran Nursing School and graduated as a nurse then obtained her RN from Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry New York
In November 1982 Donna and her family moved to New City New York where it is still home.
