Eileen M. Erps

Eileen M. Erps, a longtime resident of Rockland County, New York, peacefully passed away on February 16, 2023, at home surrounded by her loved ones. Eileen was born in Bronx, New York to parents Eugene Bursee and Iris Simmons on May 7 th , 1959. She was one of seven children and grew up in New City, New York where she attended Clarkstown South High school. Her fondest childhood memories were being shoreside and on the water with her family and she carried that love for the ocean throughout her life.

Eileen met the love of her life, Allan Erps, and they married on August 22 nd , 1982. They had two beautiful children, a son; Joseph Jason in 1984 followed by a daughter, Jennifer Lynn in 1986. Eileen was a natural caregiver which influenced her personal life primarily as a mother. Her gift as a nurturer transferred over into her professional life as a Nanny, and Home Health Aid. Eileen is described by those closest to her as being the life of the party. She loved spending vacations with family and friends, celebrating the holidays and attending biannual family reunions. She loved to laugh and dance and had the gift of “gab,” especially when talking with her sisters. All the love and joy she shared with others was never surpassed by becoming a grandmother to her granddaughter, Madelyn Iris in 2014.

She is preceded by her parents, Eugene and Iris, and first cousin, Theresa. She is survived by husband Allan, and children Joseph and Jennifer, her granddaughter Madelyn, her siblings; Edna, Jean, Susan, Kathy, Harry and Joni. Eileen will always be remembered by her infectious laugh and her love for her family.
