Elizabeth Riedl passed away peacefully in her sleep at home at the age of 101 on July 18, 2015. Elizabeth, known to most as Aunt Betty, was born in Manhattan on July 11, 1914 and relocated to Spring Valley. She was the daughter of Anna and George Riedl, and is predeceased by her sister Anne Hass and her niece Barbara Hass. She will be lovingly remembered by her niece, Anne Hass of Nanuet, nephew George Hass (Marlene) of Saugerties, great nieces Barbara Hass (Sue) of Kingston, and Anne Hass of Kingston, NY, and great-great nephews Tyler and George Bard of Kingston. She loved her church, her family and her friends. She also loved all kinds of animals. She had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed games of all kinds. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 21st, from 3-7pm at Higgins Funeral Home in New City. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, 10am, at St. Joseph’s Church, Spring Valley, followed by interment at St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Nanuet, NY.
