Emily Mordeci

Emily Mordeci passed away peacefully on Sunday evening, April 17, 2011, at home surrounded by her loving family. Emily was born on June 28, 1929 in "da" Bronx, NY to Thomas and Duma Justinick. She was a long time resident of Rockland County. Emily was a parishioner of St. Paul's Church in Congers, a member of the Congers Senior Citizen Club, and the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed frequently donating to the New York State Lottery as well as the slots at Yonkers Raceway. Emily sang and danced her way throughout her life, bringing laughter and joy to all those around her. She was greatly loved and will be sorely missed. Emily is survived by her children Donna and her husband Bob Call, Michael and his wife Dorothy, Richard and his wife Laura, and Glen and his wife Fran, as well as her ten grandchildren: Kimberly, Jaime, Robert, Michael, Dianna, Janet, Kyle, TJ, Jackson, and Miko. She is predeceased by her beloved husband Sam in 2004. Emily leaves behind a legacy of family including many loving nieces and nephews. Viewing will be held on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 at Higgins Funeral Home in New City. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday at St. Paul's Church in Congers at 11:30am followed by interment at Gethsemane Cemetery, Rockland Lake, NY
