Filomena Granato

Filomena Granato, passed away on February 25, 2014 at the age of 91. She was born in the Bronx, NY on December 21, 1922 to Ernest Feo and Josephine (Fiumefreddo). She married Michael F. Granato on February 9, 1947. They moved to Bergenfield, NJ in 1970; moved to Nanuet in 1990 and to New City in 1996. Filomena worked for Volkswagen of America and Volvo Cars, retiring in 1987. She also worked as a real estate salesperson for Russo Real Estate. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Filomena is predeceased by her husband, Michael (2009); brother, Frank Feo; sister-in-law, Dorothy Feo and sister-in-law, Sr. Antonina Granato. She is survived by her son Dr. Jerome E. Granato and his wife Judy of Pittsburgh, PA; daughter Maria Pellicone and her husband Dr. John Pellicone; grandsons Matthew & Timothy Granato and Christopher & Vincent Pellicone. She is also survived by sister-in-law Lina Dina (Andrew) of Parkland, FL; brothers-in-law Salvatore Granato (Gina) of Wanaque, NJ; Jerry Granato (Antoinette) of Wanaque, NJ as well as many nieces and nephews.

Family will receive visitors at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Home in New City, NY on Thursday and Friday from 2-5 and 7-9pm. Mass of Christian burial will take place Saturday 10am at St. Augustine's Church. Entombment will follow at St. Anthony's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Filomena's name to Joe Raso Hospice, 11 Stokum Lane, New City, NY 10956.
