Gaetano U. Massa

Gaetano “Guy” Umberto Massa, 81, passed away on March 6th, 2025. Guy was born on August 29, 1943, to his parents Freddy and Caroline Massa. He was born in Manhattan and raised in the Bronx, where he attended Clinton High School. He later served his country as a member of the U.S. Army National Guard. A hardworking and dedicated family man, he owned and operated Ultra Heating and Air Conditioning in Valley Cottage for many years. He also served his community as a member of the Zoning Board for Clarkstown.

Guy was a loving and dedicated father and grandfather, never missing a game and always cheering the loudest. An unwavering and lifelong Jets and Yankees fan, Guy played for and coached the family softball team, leading them to victory as a talented pitcher. He also served as President of the Touchdown Club for Clarkstown High School South. Guy had a passion for singing and dancing, and he was the life of every party. His sense of humor and friendly personality drew people in wherever he went. Above all else, his greatest joy was his family.

He is survived by his beloved wife Lorraine, his children Carolyn, Lisa Ann (Roland), Dawn (Kevin), and Nicholas (Rebecca), his twelve cherished grandchildren Anthony (Mary), Emilio, Nicolette, Ryan, Cody, Fee, Julia, Logan, Ashley, Autumn, Jake, and Amare’, his great granddaughter Sophia and his second great grandchild who is due this August, as well as his sister Theresa. Guy will be reunited with his beloved son Freddy, who passed away on April 5, 2024, and his late sister Antoinette.

His presence will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love, laughter, and dedication to family will live on in all who knew him. A wake will be held at Higgins Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 11th, from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM.
