

Giovanna Minuto, known as Jean by her friends, passed away at age 79 on Sunday, May 18th, surrounded by her family.She was born in Bari Italy on October 12,1934 and immigrated as a teenager to the Bronx, where she met Carmelo Minuto. They married on October 21, 1956, had four children and grew a successful business called Carlo Minuto Carting. Together they moved to Rockland County in 1971, where they lived in Monsey for 14 years, before moving to Blauvelt. Jean was a wonderful, inspiring woman who's strength and capacity for love knew no bounds. Her words of wisdom, and unyielding faith will be missed but never forgotten. All who met Jean were touched by her kindness, generosity, and grace.She was an officer for the Royal Arcanum Fraternal Organization from the United States and Canada. She was also an active member of the Senior Citizens Club in the Village of Suffern. Throughout the years Jean especially enjoyed vacationing in Sea Isle City New Jersey as well as Port St. Lucie Florida where she has many friends.Jean was the leader of her proud family; Carmelo, her loving husband of 58 years, four children, Marco, Marian, Angela, Gina, ten grandchildren, and a great granddaughter.Family will receive visitors and condolences at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Home in New City, NY on Wednesday from 7-9pm, Thursday 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Catholic Funeral Mass will be on Friday at 11am at St. Catherine's Church in Blauvelt, NY.
