Jack Miceli, 79, passed away January 6, 2012, with his family by his side. He was born and raised in Staten Island, NY before moving to New City, NY in 1972. He served in the US Air Force during the Korean War at Sampson AFB and in Japan, where he worked as a butcher and chef. He continued his career as a butcher before owning and operating his own garment business in NYC. He enjoyed cooking and was the favorite chef of the residence at St. Anthony's Rectory in Nanuet, NY.
He is survived by his wife Valcia; his seven children Miriam Leto, John Miceli, Ralph Miceli, Judy Schlicht, Margie Auer, Eugenia Miceli, Jacqueline Kozakis and their families; including eleven grandchildren, his sister Vincenza (Babe) Paradiso, his nieces Michelle Orlando, Claudine Paradiso-Radu and their families.
Family may receive friends on Monday from 3-5 & 7-9pm at Higgins Funeral Home in New City, NY. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, 11:30am, at St. Anthony's Church, followed by interment at St. Anthony's Cemetery, Nanuet, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital .
