"Jimmy"/ "Jim" Shannon, 66, passed away on Sunday, October 12, 2025. Jim was known for his warmth, generosity, and ability to touch countless lives with his stories, infectious laughter, breadth of knowledge among a wide range of topics and kind spirit. He was beloved by his devoted family, including his relatives and a close-knit group of friends he considered family. Throughout his life, Jim pursued his passions with energy and kindness. He was a voracious reader who preferred the feel of paper pages over a screen and had a wide range of interests, including music, history, current events, finance, and traveling. He especially loved bicycling, anytime and anywhere and spending time near the water, whether at beaches, islands, or lakes. Jimmy/Jim will be deeply missed.
Wake: Friday, October 17, 2025, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Service Inc., located at 321 South Main Street in New City, NY.
Prayer Service: A Prayer Service will be held during the Wake at 6 p.m.
