

James (Jim) Thomas Small Sr. of West Nyack, NY passed away on February 14, 2013 at the VA Hospital in Montrose, NY. Jim previously resided in Lee County, FL for 25 years. He worked as a computer systems analyst. Jim was born December 17, 1933 in Brooklyn, NY. Jim was one of five children; his 4 sisters preceded him in death; Dotty Small of Florida, Virginia Anderson of Florida, Marilyn Vono of NJ and Estelle Gordon of Staten Island, NY. He enlisted in the Navy and served in the Korean Conflict. Jim leaves his loving wife of 55 years Dorothy A. D’Antuono-Small; his daughters Suzanne Small of Garnerville, NY, Diana M. Favor and husband Scott F. Favor of Florida, his son James T. Small Jr. and his grandsons Jamie, Casey and Spencer Small of West Nyack, NY, and many nieces and nephews, as well as his faithful companion Barney the Basset Hound.
Jim Sr. was actively involved with the West Nyack Little League, he was on the Board of Directors up until his retirement to Florida in 1985. He was also the leader of Troop 42 of West Nyack – Boy Scouts of America. He was also involved in the Nanuet Seniors II. Jim Sr. also supported the Camp Venture Organization. Jim was a jack of all trades, and master of all. He enjoyed sailing, listening to music and the Turner Classic movies.
