Jane R. O'Reilly

Jane was born on May 1st, 1935 in Manhattan, NY to James and Mary Ellen (Finn) Rowan. She grew up on the West Side of Manhattan (“Vinegar Hill”). She attended Annunciation Academy and graduated from Father Young Academy. Later in life, Jane achieved her nursing degree (RN) from RCC which was her lifelong goal.

She married the love of her life, Peter, in 1956. They moved to New City, NY where they raised their 5 children. Jane was a member of the St. Augustine choir and Catholic Big Sisters. She was an active volunteer at St. Augustine School and also taught CCD at St. Francis. Jane and her two best friends (Margie and Betty) established the Bergenfield School of Irish Dance and taught for many years.

Jane was always ready for a new adventure and was happiest when surrounded by family and friends. She will always be remembered for her high energy and “can do” attitude.

She is survived by her children Mary Beth (Guy) Moore, Gerard (Cindy) O’Reilly, Janie (Rick) Sullivan, Kathleen (Frank) Germinaro, Eileen (Sean) McGinnis. Jane is also survived by 12 adoring grandchildren, Guy (Colleen), Katie (Jeff), Meghan (Matt), Jacqueline (John), Kristen, Ryan, Brian, Kasey, Ashlyn, Jack, Matthew and Reilly – and 4 great-grandchildren, Brody, Guy, James and Peter. She is predeceased by her loving husband Peter.

A visitation for Jane will be held Tuesday, January 20th, 2026 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Services Inc, 321 S. Main St, New City, NY 10956. A funeral mass will occur Wednesday, January 21st at 10:00 AM at St. Augustine Church, 140 Maple Ave, New City, NY 10956.
