The Colangelo family announces with deep sadness the loss of their beloved husband and father, John Colangelo, Sr.. John was born in Italy on December 19, 1939 and immigrated to the United States 50 years ago. He worked as a mechanic in the Bronx, then bought and operated his own gas station/mechanic shop, before becoming a property owner and operator in the Bronx and Florida. He was a hard working, driven and dedicated man, but his greatest joy came from his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Lucy, his son Anthony, his daughter Maria Costanzo and son in law Peter, his son John, Jr. and daughter in law Mary Grace. His grandchildren meant the world to him. He leaves behind 9: Kyle, Giovanni, Anthony, Jr., Alessio, Sofia, James, Justin, Jeffrey and Jack and was awaiting the birth of his tenth. The wake will be held at Higgins Funeral Home 321 South Main Street New City, NY on Tuesday 6/7 from 7-9pm and Wednesday 6/8 at 2-4pm and 7-9pm. The funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church 627 east 187th street Bronx, NY at 10am followed by interment at St. Anthony's Cemetery Nanuet, NY.
