

He is survived by his wife Margaret, his daughter and son-in-law, Angela DiMartino and Andrew Russell, his son John DiMartino Jr. and daughter-in-law Ginny Raichart, and his son Paul DiMartino. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Sofia and Jack DiMartino, and three step-grandchildren, Noah, Claire and Fox.
John was born in Brooklyn, NY to Michele and Antoinette DiMartino on February 27, 1944. He graduated from Fordham University in 1965 with a Bachelor of Science in History. John married his loving wife Margaret in 1967, and in 1974, they moved to their current home in Nanuet. He worked for many years as a Financial Comptroller for the Federation of Cooperatives, Inc., and then with Eastern Electrical Contracting Corporation.
John cherished his time spent with an extended family of brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews. He was a huge fan of classic TV, especially Perry Mason, Columbo and Gunsmoke, and always completed the New York Times Sunday crossword.
Visiting will be held on Sunday May 3, 2026, from 3pm-7pm at Higgins Funeral Home at 321 S. Main Street, New City, NY 10956. A funeral mass will be held on Monday May 4, 2026, at 11am followed by a burial in Ascension Cemetery at 650 Saddle River Road, Airmont, NY 10952.
