John Thomas Duffy

John T. Duffy, 81, of New City, New York, passed away on January 5, 2026 surrounded by loved ones.

Born on January 1, 1945 in New York, New York, John was the beloved son of John Peter and Mary Elizabeth.

John is survived by his wife, Catherine, and their children: Denise Cowen and husband Steve, John Duffy and his wife Chelsea, Thomas Duffy and his wife Victoria, and William Duffy and his wife Rebecca.

John was a proud grandfather to 10 grandchildren: Steven and his fiancée Casey, Cayli, Michelle and her partner Christopher, Annika and her husband Liam, Oliver, Jaqueline, Sulietta, Greyden, Tiberius, and Andrew and great-grandfather to Steven, Ryder, and Elowyn.

John also leaves behind his siblings: Hugh and his wife Patricia, Mary Jane, Ronald and his wife Deirdre, Ray and his wife Catherine, his brother-in-law William Robertson, and nieces, and nephews.

John served in Vietnam and received a Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He enjoyed cruising and spending time with his family.

A visitation will be held at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Service Inc., located at 321 South Main Street, New City, NY, 10956, on January 11, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

The funeral service will take place at St. Augustine's Church, 118 S Main St, New City, NY, 10956, on January 12, 2026, from 10:00 am to 10:45 am.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to The Wounded

Warrior Project or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
