

Born in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania on January 11, 1931 to Antonio and Antoinette (Di Bella )Maietta. He is survived by his devoted wife of nearly 60 years Concetta Maietta and his loving daughter Cheryl Maietta. He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter Lisa who passed away October 21, 1982. He was one of 11 children.
John came from a close knit family, and is also survived by brother Anthony Maietta and his wife Dorothy, many more nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
He was also predeceased by nine siblings: Ralph, Joey and Leonard Maietta, Angie Leone, Mary Cirrincione, Dolores Scozzari, Millie Pinto, Jenny Maietta and Dolly Marchant.
He will be dearly missed by all who new him. He served honorably as a sergeant in the United States Army during the Korean War. A proud veteran and and a loving family man Mr. Maietta will be remembered for his strength, loyalty and quiet dedication to those he loved.
One of the greatest joy of John’s life was riding his motorcycle. From the time he was young he had a love for the road that only grew stronger over the years, the bikes got bigger, the rides got longer, and the stories were more unforgettable. he rode through every season, in sunshine and snow. He was proud to be a member of the Ramapo Motorcycle Club, riding wasn’t just a hobby for him it was his peace, his freedom and one of the ways he connected with the world and his riding friends.
Services with military honors will be held at the Ascension Cemetery, 650 Saddle River Rd. Airmont, NY 10952. Interment will follow.
