Joseph Lappetito

Joseph H. Lappetito, Sr., age 74, of Nanuet, NY formerly of Spring Valley, NY passed away on Tuesday, December 16, 2016 at Good Samaritan Hospital, Suffern, NY. He is predeceased by his late parents Saverio and Sophie Lappetito. Joe is survived by his wife of 48 years Frances (Kraynak), sons Joseph Jr. of Nanuet, Steven and daughter-in-law Barbara of New City, granddaughters Sofia, Allison, Emily, Riley, and Kaley, and his sister Sandy (Clarence) of Suffern, NY, brother Dennis (Caroline) of Carey, N.C.

Joe was a 1961 graduate of Spring Valley High School. After proudly serving in the U.S. Navy in 1965 he went to work for 40 years as an electrician at Lederle Labs in Pearl River, NY. Joe was an avid sports fan and especially loved rooting for the NY Rangers. He also looked forward to summer vacations with his family at the Jersey Shore in Wildwood Crest and especially his trips to Las Vegas for the past 19 years with his wife Frances.

Visitation will be held Friday, December 16 from 2-4 and 7-9pm at Higgins Funeral Home in New City, NY. A mass will be held at 10am on Saturday, December 17 at St. Anthony's Church 36 W. Nyack Rd, Nanuet, NY. In lieu of flowers a donation can be made in his honor to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, 230 East Ohio Ave., Suite 500, Chicago Il, 60611 or Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
