Joseph Marcario

Joseph Marcario, Sr of Tomkins Cove, NY, passed away peacefully at the age of 95 on September 26, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on December 4, 1927, in Brooklyn, NY. He served his country proudly for the United States Navy and married the love of his life, Marie. They celebrated 72 years of marriage together. He worked for the NYC Fire Department for 20 years then the US Postal Service for another 20, retiring from both. Joe had a strong passion for boating and was a member of the Cortland Yacht Club in Montrose, NY where he served several positions including Commodore. He was also very proud of his Italian heritage and was a member of the Order Sons of Italy. Joe & Marie are members of St. Augustines Church in New City, NY where he volunteered as an usher and lended a helping hand when needed. God and Family were most important to him and was evident in everything he did. He is survived by his loving wife Marie, children Jean, June, Danielle (Michael) and Joseph Jr. (Melanie), his grandchildren John, Cameron, Cole, Carly, Chad, Skyler, Zack & Domenic. He was predeceased by his parents, brother and sister. He will be missed by all who knew him.

A visitation for Joseph will be held Sunday, October 1, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Service Inc., 321 S Main St, New City, New York 10956.
