

Josephine Anne Healy, 80, a longtime resident of New City, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2016. "Jo" was born on October 18, 1935 to Patrick and Mary Harris in the Throgs Neck section of Bronx, New York. A proud graduate of Aquinas High School, she moved to New City in 1966 to raise her family with her loving husband William C. “Bill” Healy, who predeceased her in 1989. She is also predeceased by her sister Mary Elizabeth Reilly.
Jo enjoyed helping others and worked for the Clarkstown School District, the Rockland County Historical Society, Noto Real Estate and the Salvation Army. She and her husband Bill were also Founding Members of St. Francis of Assisi Church in West Nyack, New York, where she was a member of the Ladies Guild, the Parish Bowling Team and a volunteer at Clare's Cove Thrift Shop.
She is survived by her three children, Brian Healy and his wife Maryanne of New Rochelle, New York, Mary Bailey and her husband Steven of Cumming, Georgia, and Patrick Healy and his wife Jody of Nanuet, New York. She is also survived by her brother Patrick Harris and his wife Anne of Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, and her brother John Harris and his wife Agnes of East Hampton, New York. Jo was a loving grandmother and is survived by her grandchildren, Sean Bailey, Kaitlyn Healy, Derek Healy, Jessica Healy and Jolene Healy.
Family will receive friends on Sunday, June 26th from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home, 321 South Main Street, New City, New York. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, June 27th at 11am at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 128 Parrot Road, West Nyack, New York. Interment will follow at St. Anthony's Cemetery, 36 West Nyack Road, Nanuet, New York.
