Julia M. McCann

Julia McCann passed away from a short illness on October 17, 2010. She was 53 years old. Julia was born on December 8, 1956 in Queens, NY to Lola and William J. McCann. She resided in New City, NY and graduated from Clarkstown High School North as well as Rockland Community College School of Nursing. Julia was a licensed professional registered nurse. She graduated in 1998 and worked at the Hudson Valley Hospital as well as Nyack Hospital. She was an avid reader, and had great devotion to the Blessed Mother. She will be remembered as a loving mother, sister and friend. Julia is survived by her son, Michael William McCann; her sisters Marguerite McCann, Patricia McCann, and Mary-Beth McCann; her brothers John McCann and his wife Patricia, and William J. McCann Jr.; her beloved cats Petunia, Penelope, along with all of her furry canine friends; Sooner Marie will be missed the most. She is also survived by one niece and one nephew. Julia was predeceased by her beloved father, William McCann, her beloved mother Lola McCann, and her beloved Aunt Julia V. Ball. Viewing will be held on Tuesday October 18 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday October 19 at 10am at St. Augustine's Church followed by the burial at Gethsemane Cemetery. The family requests that no flowers be sent.
