Laikhrajh Bishun

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Laikhrajh (Bruce) Bishun, who left this world on Friday December 19, 2025, at the age of 84 years old. Born on July 30, 1941, in Georgetown Guyana, Laikhrajh was the oldest of 10 children (4 brothers and 5 sisters) born to Mana and Nora Bishun.

Family was everything to him. In 1966, Laikhrajh married his loving spouse Sylvia Bishun, and together they raised 3 wonderful children: Veronica, Ricky, and the late Robert Bishun. He adored his 8 precious grandchildren and one great granddaughter.

In 1969 Laikhrajh came to the United States to pursue his career in Automotive Technology which led him to become a successful Car Audio and Body Shop Business Owner.

In his younger days, he was an All-Star cricket player and even after he left Guyana he had a love for the game and continued to watch cricket matches with his friends and family.

He will be remembered for his infectious smile, kind heart, and unwavering love for his family. He touched the lives of everyone he met and will be deeply missed.

Rest in peace, Laikhrajh (Bruce) Bishun, as you watch over us from heaven. His Legacy will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and everyone who was fortunate enough to know him.

A visitation will be held at the Faith Assembly of God, located at 921 Chestnut Ridge Rd, Chestnut Ridge, NY, 10977, on December 26, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A Celebration of Life will take place at the same venue on December 26, 2025, from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

The Going Home Service is scheduled for December 27, 2025, from 8:30 am to 9:30 am, also at the Faith Assembly of God. The burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery, 50 Jackson Ave, Hastings-on-Hudson, NY, 10706, on December 27, 2025, from 11:00 am to 11:30 am.
