Margaret Neville Bitts Bliven

04/01/1931 – 12/30/2023

Peggy passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 30, 2023.

Peggy was born to Timothy and Helen Neville on April 1, 1931. Peggy was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend.

Peggy was predeceased by her husband Paul Bitts in 1987. They resided in New City where they raised their five children: Jane McDonald, Pauline Vileno, James (Tammy) Bitts, Peter (Linda) Bitts and Paul (Susan) Bitts, eleven grandchildren and several great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her sisters: Patsy and Nancy and her brothers Joseph and Teddy. She is survived by her sisters Mary and Helen and her brothers Michael, Johnny, Timmy and Steven.

Peggy remarried Raymond Bliven who predeceased her in 2020. They resided in West Nyack. Ray was a devoted and caring husband and loved by the entire family.

Peggy lived a healthy, happy and active life until her recent illness. She enjoyed vacationing at her places in Florida, Family parties and dinners with family and friends and visiting with members of the American Legion. She never missed the opportunity to visit her church, often making special trips to send a prayer or blessing for someone in need.

Those prayers and acts of kindness were all returned to her over the past few months by everyone who showed their love and support for her and cared for her through her final journey.

The family is grateful to all of you.

Visiting hours will be on Thursday, January 4, 2024 at Higgins Funeral Home in New City from 3pm-7pm. A mass of Christian burial will take place on Friday, January 5, 2024 at 10am at St. Francis of Assisi in West Nyack, NY. Interment to follow at St. Anthony Cemetery, Nanuet, NY.
