It is with profound sadness and hearts full of cherished memories that the family of Danielle Gaspard announces her peaceful passing. A devoted mother, a loving grandmother, and a steadfast sister, Danielle lived a life defined by her unwavering dedication to her family, her generous spirit, and the deep, abiding love she held for every person in her life.
Above all else, Danielle was a nurturing woman to her children and those she cared for as a direct support professional. She was the heart of her household, the one whose warmth filled every room and whose presence made every gathering feel complete. Danielle survived by her mother Marianie Attis, and her children Gershni Melendez (Gustavo), Jonathan Gaspard, Dmitri Gaspard, and brothers Aland Celestin, Abner Celestin Jr, and sister Peggy Celestin and, her grandchildren, Giana Melendez, Dominic Melendez, Xiona Gaspard, and Jonu Gaspard. Danielle is predeceased by her father Abner Celestin Sr. She cherished her role as a mother to her three beloved children and approached that calling with a unbreakable and unconditional love. To know Danielle was to know that family came first, always.
One of Danielle’s greatest sources of pride was the education of her children. She believed deeply in the power of knowledge to open doors and transform lives. She did not simply encourage her children from the sidelines, she walked beside them every step of the way, guiding them through the challenges and celebrations of earning their college degrees. Her faith in their potential never wavered, and she made sure they knew it.
As a grandmother, Danielle brought the same boundless love and gentle wisdom to the next generation, delighting in every moment spent with her grandchildren. As a sister, she was a confidante and a source of strength and laughter through every season of life. Her siblings will carry forward the memory of a woman who showed up, spoke plainly, and loved without condition.
Danielle’s compassion did not end at her front door. For years, she dedicated herself to her work at Rockland of ARC and Rockland BOCES, caring for individuals in need with the same wholehearted love she poured into her family. She had a rare gift for making people feel seen, valued, and never alone. The individuals she supported were not simply her responsibility; they were a cherished part of her world. They brightened her days, brought joy to her heart, and she carried them with her always. To those she served, she was more than a caregiver; she was a constant, steady presence and a true blessing.
Though she is no longer with us but home with her Father in Heaven, the legacy of Danielle Gaspard lives on in every life she touched — in the degrees on the walls, the stories shared around the table, and the love that continues to bind this family together.
