Marilee Dwyer, aged 84, passed away peacefully and in the presence of her family on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, after a long illness. She is predeceased by her loving husband of 62 years, Brian Dwyer Sr., who passed away earlier this past July. She leaves her daughter, Anne Marie Cirrilla, who cared for her so diligently until the end, her son, Brian Dwyer, Jr., four grandchildren: Dylan Dwyer and his wife Bridget, Keenan Dwyer, Caitlin Dwyer, Anthony Cirrilla and his wife Megan, and a great grandson, August Brian Cirrilla, born this year. Marilee also leaves her caring siblings, Gail Bodenlos, Christine Silverstein and her husband Jeffrey, Robert Bodenlos and his wife Mary Lou, and Joan Lewis, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Born in Far Rockaway, NY in 1940, Marilee and Brian married in 1962 at the age of 21, and immediately started their family. They stayed faithfully together through life’s ups and downs, raised their children, and ultimately settled in New City, NY.
Through it all, a shared love of music was a strong bond between them. Brian was an organist and pianist, and Marilee had an angelic soprano voice. Marilee was often accompanied by Brian at weddings and funerals, and she also had parts in several musical productions, in which she sang, acted and danced. Marilee and Brian sang into their eighties with the Rockland County Choral Society until Marilee’s illness made that no longer possible. Together, they found great joy in music until the ends of their lives.
They are now reunited in Heaven, where Marilee sings with the angels. She was a wonderful woman of many talents, humor, love, and wisdom who will be missed by all who loved her.
