Mary Hahn

A longtime resident of New City died on January 24, 2012. She was born on June 4, 1923 in Yonkers to Fred and Mae (Quirk) Smith. Mary grew up in Yonkers as one of 5 children and graduated from Yonkers High School of Commerce. Mary married Frank Hahn on Oct 26, 1950. She was predeceased by Frank on March 18, 1988. Mary, Frank and their family moved to New City in 1959. She was a member of St. Augustine's Parish for 52 years. Mary was avid fan of the New York Yankees and had been All American bingo player. One of Mary's most cherished pastimes was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren which included her 2 children, Mary Ann Dupee (Bob) of Congers and Dr. Thomas Hahn (Margarete) of Danville, Pa.; 7 grandchildren, Heather Cahill (Cal), Patrick Dupee (Marcelina) and Katie Galvin (Brian) Heidi, Timothy, Andrew and Kevin Hahn; 3 great-grandchildren, Brendan, Matthew and Erin Cahill; 3 step great-grandchildren, Jency, Jayson and Andy Lopez. She is predeceased by her brothers, Joseph, Fred, John and James. In addition, Mary is survived by many nieces and nephews, including Patty O'Keefe, Joseph and Michael Smith, who Mary helped raise. She will especially be missed by her friend and neighbor, Adele Sapienza. Family may receive friends on Friday, January 27 from 2-4 & 7-9 at Higgins Funeral Home in New City, NY. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at St. Augustine's Church, New City, at 11am followed by interment at St. Anthony's Cemetery, Nanuet, NY.
