Mary Haines of New City, New York passed away peacefully at Nyack Hospital on September 4, 2024. She was 82 years old. Mary was born on July 2, 1942 in Pearl River, New York to the late Walter and Margaret Murphy. She married Curtis Haines on March 26, 1976.
Mary was a graduate of Our Lady of Victory High School and Dominican College. She touched the hearts and minds of many young students during her 37 year career as an elementary school teacher at Laurel Plains Elementary School in New City.
Mary will always be remembered as an animal lover. She especially enjoyed spending time with her furry companions Pepper, Popeye, Bozo, Spot, Buddy and Max.
Mary is survived by her devoted husband Curtis and many cherished friends and family members.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made in Mary's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Visitation - Tuesday, September 10, 2024 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm
Burial - Wednesday, September 11, 2024 10:30 am - meet at funeral home for procession to Oak Hill Cemetery, Nyack, New York
