

Mary Margaret (Connor) McCorry, was born in Aughadangan, Strokestown, Co. Roscommon, Ireland. She passed away peacefully on February 17,2026 at her home in Pearl River, New York, surrounded by her devoted family.
Mary was predeceased by her loving husband of 59 years, Owen McCorry, originally from Blacklion,Co. Cavan, Ireland.
Mary is survived by her beloved children: Margaret McCorry Walotsky, Carol Goode (John), Mary Parks (David),and Owen McCorry (Nancy). She was the proud grandmother of her twelve grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, all of whom she cherished deeply. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews across the United States, Ireland, Canada, England and Australia.
Mary emigrated to New York in 1953, embarking on a new chapter filled with love, family, and community. She met Owen at the Star of Munster Ballroom in New York City, and the couple married in 1955. Together, they created a warm and loving home to raise their four children. First in the Bronx in Our Lady of Angels Parish, St. Nicholas of Tolentine Parish and lastly, St. Aedan’s in Pearl River, NY.
Mary’s professional journey began at Consolidated Edison of New York. Later, she worked for the New York City School District and the Pearl River School District, always dedicated to her work and the communities she served.
A proud Irish American, Mary was deeply committed to preserving and promoting Irish culture. She was an active member of the County Roscommon Society of NY and the Rockland Irish American Club. She served as a lifelong officer of the Irish Dancing Music Association of North America. Her passion for Irish dancing and music led her to dedicate countless hours to their growth and expansion in the tri-state area. She was instrumental in organizing and overseeing the associations Irish dance Feisanna’s, participating in the St. Patrick’s Day parade in NY and support of Calvary Hospital in the Bronx. Her happiest moments were spent attending and supporting her children and grandchildren as they participated in Irish dancing, a legacy that brought her unparalleled joy.
Mary’s faith was the cornerstone of her life. As a faithful parishioner of St. Aedan’s Church in Pearl River, she found strength and solace in her spiritual community. Her kindness, warmth, and unwavering devotion to her family and heritage left a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Mary’s life and legacy at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Home 321 S. Main Street New City, NY on Friday, February 20 from 3-8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 21,2026 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Aedan’s Roman Catholic Church 23 Reld Drive, Pearl River, NY. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
