Mary McLaughlin

on August 7, 2016. Born on July 5, 1935 in the Bronx, NY, she was the

seventh child of Rafael LaForgia and Diana Florio LaForgia. She

married Philip McLaughlin with whom she had six children. Her fourth

child, Philip Patrick Jr. predeceased her in 1966. She lovingly

raised her five children and went on to love and adopt a grand niece.

Mary laughed often and was loved and cherished for her wonderful sense

of humor.

Mary was preceded in death by her brothers John, Tommy and Joseph and

sister Lena. Left to honor Mary and remember her love are her husband

of 58 years, sisters Domenica Polak and Frances LaForgia, Mary’s six

children, William (Gabriele) McLaughlin, Marie (Larry) Watkins, Donna

(Patrick) McKeon, Diane (Robert) Sullivan, Joseph (Sheila) McLaughlin,

Christine (Raymond) Licata, twelve beloved granddaughters and many

nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 10th at 11am at St.

Augustine’s Church at 140 Maple Ave., New City, NY. Burial will

follow at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery at 10 W Stevens Ave., Hawthorne,

NY. The family will greet friends from 2:00 pm to 4:00pm and 7:00 to

9:00pm on Tuesday, August 9, 2016, at the Higgins Funeral Parlor in New City, NY.
