

Mary Joseph Parry, 82, of South Yarmouth, MA and formerly of New City, NY, passed away peacefully Monday, October 27th surrounded by her family. She was born in Nutley, NJ, the daughter of Veronica and Frederick Reiners. She was predeceased by her loving husband William, whom she married in 1954. They were longtime residents of New City, NY before retiring to Cape Cod in 1995.Mary received a B.A. in Education from Fordham University and a Master's degree from the Hunter College School of Education. She taught at the New York School for the Deaf before embarking on her life's work of raising her six children. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her family, especially her sixteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.Mary was an Eucharistic minister, lector and catechist as a parishioner of St. Augustine's Church in New City, and St. Pius X Church, in South Yarmouth. She was a lifelong bridge and mahjong player, and enjoyed challenging her husband to crossword puzzles and Jeopardy. Mary and family are longtime members of the Nyack Field Club where she enjoyed tennis, barbeques and many friends. Mary had a special love for the theater and was involved for many years as an actress and director in local productions.She is survived by her son, William of Jacksonville, FL, daughters, Donna (Brian) McGrath of Yarmouth Port, MA, Anne (Francis) Fallon of New City, Eileen (Richard) Moson of Valley Cottage, Kathleen McGrath of Nanuet, and son-in-law Daniel Nagle of New City. Grandchildren William, Janet, and Rosemarie Parry, Kaitlin (David) Robinson, Sean and Cory McGrath, Elizabeth (Daniel) Bond, Patrick, Kristen and Colleen Fallon, Richard and Tyler Moson, Christopher and Erin Nagle, Courtney McGrath and great-grandchildren Cameron and Colin Robinson. She was predeceased by her daughter Mary Nagle, grandson Ryan Moson, brother Robert Reiners and son-in-law John McGrath.Visiting hours will be held from 4pm to 8pm on Friday at Higgins Funeral Home, New City. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at 10:30 am at St. Augustine Church, New City, followed by burial at St. Anthony's Cemetery.
