May Eleanor Lawrence (nee Polhemus) of New City, NY, 100 years old, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2012. May was a lifelong resident of New City. She was predeceased by her loving husband Andrew and loving son Edgar. She is survived by her daughter Eleanor Dickson; her sons Warren (Barbara) and Gary (Donna) and daughter-in-law Joyce Lawrence. She is also survived by her sister Ester Bosico, and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren, in addition to many nieces and nephews. May was a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary New City Fire Department. She will be missed by all who knew her. Family will receive friends on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9pm at Higgins Funeral Home in New City, NY. Gathering of friends will occur Friday morning, 10am, with a service to follow at 11am at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the New City Fire Department.
