Michael Robert Conroy

He was born in the Bronx, NY to the late William and Andrea Conroy and was raised in Suffern, NY. Michael attended the Suffern Central School District. He later graduated from New York Institute for the Blind. Since 1988 he has resided with Jawonio Inc. of Rockland County, where he gained many lasting friendships.

Michael was well known for his stories, sometimes tall tales and a fabulous sense of humor, matched only by his never failing memory! He was a true Yankee enthusiast and Star Trek fan. Michael was a very social individual and loved going out with his friends and family to eat and the movies. He loved spending time with family, especially celebrating all holidays. He gained a love for sports, especially baseball and football from his late brother-in-law John Mallon.

He was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church of Suffern, NY, receiving the sacraments of Communion and Conformation as a child.

Michael is predeceased by his sisters Andrea and Tricia, and brother Billy. He is also predeceased by his brothers-in-law John Kelly Jr. and John Mallon.

He is survived and loved by his sisters Lynda Kelly, Kathy Mallon and brother-in-law Ed McCall, as well as 7 nieces and nephews, and 5 great nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Michael will be held Thursday, July 11, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Service Inc., 321 South Main Street, New City, NY 10956. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, July 12, 2024 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Sacred Heart Church, 129 Lafayette Ave, Suffern, NY 10901.
