

Myles Prior of New City, NY, 88 years old, entered eternal rest on January 5, 2026. He is survived by his children and their spouses: Myles (Karen), Marianne (Jay), Chris (Suzanne) and Tom (Peggy) and his brothers Jim (Bonnie) and Michael (Judy) as well as by his loving grandchildren (Patrick, Mikey, Caroline, Kaila, Jose, Keith, Reagan, Erin, Maeve, Casey, Brianna, and Emma) and his nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his loving wife of 59 years, Mary Ann, his beloved son, David, his sister, Marie, and his parents, Mary and Myles.
Myles was born in the Bronx to Myles and Mary Prior on June 9, 1937. Myles married his high school sweet heart (Mary Ann) in 1961. Together, they raised five children and instilled a work ethic and commitment to faith. He supported his wife and children in all their endeavors and often put their needs ahead of his own. 19619
Myles graduated from Iona College and had a storied career as a salesman for McGraw Hill for 45 years. He received the prestigious Salesman of the Year and Regional Salesman of the Year for many years. He volunteered his time for many causes within St. Augustine's Church in addition to organizations that involved his children .He supported the military with a support group for family members. He gathered and sent care packages to deployed units as well as Walter Reed Medical Center. He initiated the installation of American flags along the causeway connecting New City to Congers.
Myles was an eternal optimist who would start a conversation with anyone and everyone. In his later years, he would brighten many physician office waiting rooms with his outgoing nature and quick wit.
He absolutely loved time spent with family. In recent years, talking on the phone or meeting his cousins and brothers and talking about old times brought him great satisfaction. He looked forward to the next gathering. He cherished the conversations and time-shared with his grandchildren. They made him very proud and he often shared his excitement with family and friends.
He loved to travel and followed his grandchildren all over the United States and Europe for swim meets and lacrosse games. He was thrilled to have celebrated Easter 2023 at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart at Notre Dame and have the opportunity to watch his grandsons at Duke and Notre Dame play against each other.
Myles was best known for being a man of great faith. He lived his faith by lifting others in their time of need. He was a communicant at St Augustine's in New City for sixty years. He attended daily mass.
A funeral mass will be held Saturday January, 17th, at 10 AM at Saint Augustine's Catholic Church in New City, NY followed by a burial in Gethsemane Cemetery at Rockland Lake in Congers, NY. The family requests that in lieu of sending flowers, please donate to the charity of your choice.
