Rita A. Hennelly

Rita was born on November 5, 1933 to Frederick and Eleanor Doherty. She is predeceased by her siblings Frederick, Eleanor, Jean and Vincent.

Rita grew up on 84th Street in New York City where she met the love of her life, Robert (Pat) Hennelly (deceased 2001). They were married at St. Monica’s Church in New York City on October 20, 1956. They shared 45 wonderful years of love and laughter.

Rita and Pat moved to New City in 1964 where they raised their four daughters, Ellen (Mark) Robinson, Patty (Mike) Power, Maureen (Brian) Kramer, Jean (Matt) Barry.

Rita cherished every moment spent with her family. She was an amazing grandmother to 13 grandchildren, Billy (Christina), Chris (Kristen), Tommy (Tara), Bobby (Nicole), Jeannie (Michael), Brittany (Ryan), Jackie (Ian), Katie (Sean), Kim (Kevin), Amanda (Flynn), Matty, Jack (Amanda), and Cara (Chris).

She was also very happy to hold the title of “Great Grandmother of 27” to Tommy, Ty, Olivia, Billy, Ava, Liam, Teagan, Julianna, Abigail, Brayden, Colin, Jack, Tatum, Aubrey, Jackson, Tucker, Taylor, Madison, Hannah, Kendall, Connor, Trevor, Paige, Hailey, George, Lily, and Brynn.

Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure. Forever in our hearts.

A visiting for Rita will be held Thursday, July 11, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Home, 321 S. Main Street, New City, New York 10956. The Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 12, 2024 at 10:00 AM at St. Francis of Assisi, 128 Parrott Rd, West Nyack, NY 10994. Burial will follow at Frederick Loescher Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 220 Brick Church Rd, Spring Valley, NY 10977
