

Robert F. Dolan of Pearl River, NY and formerly of North Fort Myers FL passed away peacefully in his sleep on Monday, May 30, 2012. He was born on June 6, 1933 to Thomas J and Elizabeth Dolan in Brooklyn, NY.
He is survived by his loving wife Joyce W. Dolan of Pearl River and North Fort Myers, FL, his brother Thomas. J. Dolan, Jr. of Pearl River, his children Robert F. Dolan, Jr. and his wife Mary of Washingtonville, Kevin Dolan and his wife Nina of Port Saint Lucie, Fl, Katherine Dolan Silverman and her husband, Dr. Bart Silverman of New City, Brian Dolan of Orangeburg, Jeffrey Dolan and his wife Sherri of Washingtonville, Andrew Dolan and his wife Jean of Goshen, grandchildren Brandon, Robert, Courtney, Ryan, Scott, Nicole, William, Jack, Zachary, and Kimberly. He was predeceased by his sister, Dorothy Dailey.
Bob proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He married Joyce, the love of his life, on February 11, 1956 in Lynbrook, NY. They were married for 57 happy years and together they lovingly raised six children. Bob gave generously of his time to his community and church, Saint Margaret’s R.C. of Pearl River. He retired as a Photo Engraver from Union Camp in Englewood, NY in 1996.
During his retirement Bob was instrumental in raising funds to build St Theresa RC Church in North Fort Myers. He enjoyed spending time on the golf course, with friends and family, telling jokes and showing that “Pop Pop can fix anything”. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Family will receive friends on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9pm at Higgins Funeral Home in New City, NY. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, 11am, at St. Margaret’s Church, Pearl River, NY. Private cremation will follow.
