

Bob Van Zandt of Pearl River, NY, passed away at his home on December 4, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in the Bronx on July 8, 1944, where he lived for 76 years. In 2020, he and his wife moved to Pearl River to be closer to their daughter and her family.
Bob graduated from Christopher Columbus High School and attended Bronx Community College. He began his career at Metropolitan Life Insurance as a sales agent. Among his many accomplishments was sharing his expertise in tax preparation and tax law by teaching and mentoring others. He later founded his own tax preparation business, the Van Zandt Agency, which grew into a thriving and respected enterprise. Bob was an inspiration to both his clients and his employees, and his legacy will be remembered for his strong work ethic, dedication, and passion for helping others.
Bob loved golfing, bowling, softball, dancing, and board games—especially chess. Above all, he treasured family gatherings and spending time with friends.
Bob is survived by his devoted wife of 60 years, Patricia; his daughter, Helene, and son-in-law, Rob Daly; his sister, Debra Van Zandt; and his dear family member, Mary Van Zandt. He is also survived by his eight cherished grandchildren: Robert Henry, Rosa, Samantha, Robert, Chelsea, Jenna, Jack, and Julian. He is lovingly remembered by his nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Bob is predeceased by his parents, Henry and Anna Van Zandt; his sister, Diane Miller; and his son, Robert John Van Zandt.
Bob lived a full and beautiful life, and he will be forever missed by all who loved him.
Visiting hours for Bob Van Zandt will be held on Monday, December 8, 2025, from 4–8 p.m. A funeral Mass will take place at St. Margaret’s Church of Antioch on Tuesday, December 9, at 10:00 a.m., followed by interment at St. Raymond Old Cemetery, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Mausoleum.
