October 9, 1944 – June 25, 2025
Ronald E. Rybarczyk, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on June 25, 2025, surrounded by the love and gratitude of his family. Born on October 9, 1944 in Chicago, Illinois, Ron lived a life defined by service, strength, laughter, and unwavering devotion to those around him.
He shared 60 beautiful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Myra Rybarczyk. Together, they built a life filled with love, family traditions, and enduring memories. Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Virginia and Elmer Rybarczyk, and his brother
James. He is survived by his daughters Theresa Shedler (and her husband Scott), and Karen Genua (and her husband Gerard). He was a proud grandfather to Luke Shedler (and his girlfriend Aldona “My Polish Friend” Brzek), Natalie Shedler (and her fiancé Dave Smits), Eric Genua, and Andrew Genua (and his partner David Lundy). He held a special bond with his favorite brother-in-law, Kenneth Jungberg.
Ron’s love for his family was unmatched. He treasured every moment spent together—especially the many vacations to the Jersey Shore and the cruises that brought the whole family closer. Whether it was time on the beach or out at sea, those trips created
memories that will last a lifetime.
Ron proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam era and was a proud member of the American Legion. He was a gifted athlete—once pitching at the iconic Wrigley Field—and a lifelong Chicago Bears fan. He was also an accomplished bowler, having proudly bowled a perfect game. He found joy and peace at Greenwood Lake, especially while cruising in his beloved speedboat, “Popsicle”. His loyal dog Dutchess was always close by.
Ron was a steady hand, a warm laugh, and a loving heart. He lived fully and gave deeply. His legacy will live on in the stories, values, and love he passed down.
And so now, with full hearts, we say not goodbye, but…
Gooood Night, Ron.
