Rosalie T. McGuire

Rosalie (Timan) McGuire, 82, of Nanuet passed away peacefully on June 5, 2014. Born on December 30, 1931, Rosalie was an intelligent, generous person who was passionately devoted to her family, grandchildren and new great granddaughter. Rosalie grew up on Riverdale Avenue in Yonkers, attended Yonkers schools and graduated from Commerce High School. She attended State University College of NY at Cortland and further went on to complete her degree at Dominican College in Blauvelt, NY. She was predeceased by her husband, Gilbert R. McGuire, as well as her brother, Robert Timan. Rosalie was a district employee of the Yonkers school system encompassing 30 years of service as secretary to the superintendent and secretary to the Board of Education. Since her retirement, Rosalie has enjoyed being a member of Nanuet Seniors, St. Anthony's Parish and her most favorite hobby, spending time with her grandchildren and great granddaughter.

Rosalie is survived by her two children, Kathleen (Carl) Turziano of Montebello, NY, Gail (Louis) Cianciulli of Valley Cottage, NY and her grandchildren, Douglas Turziano, Gregory Turziano, Karalyn (James) Lawler, Courtney Turziano, Amanda Cianciulli, Nicholas Cianciulli and great grandbaby, Gia Rose Lawler. She will be greatly missed by all.

Family will receive visitors on Sunday, June 8 from 2-4 and 7-9pm at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Home, New City, NY. A Christian Mass will be celebrated Monday, June 9, 10am at St. Anthony's Shrine, Nanuet, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations in Rosalie's name can be made to the American Heart Association, PO Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241-7005.
