Ruth M. Curran

Ruth M. Curran passed away on October 2, 2025. She was born on February 1st, 1936 in Middletown, NY to Walburga (Wally) A. Hornberger and Claude B. Curran.

She was pre-deceased by her siblings C. Robert Curran and Beverley H. Dunnigan, and her nephew Michael A. Curran. She is survived by her sister in law G. Helen Younts, as well as several cousins; Liz Curran, Lynn Markle, Susan Bieling, and Mary Rhein. Also a lifelong friend and teaching colleague Judith Gebe.

Ruth graduated from Fredonia State University with a Bachelor's degree in Music. She began her teaching career in 1958 in the Clarkstown Central School District. She taught classroom and instrumental music to students in K-6 for 37 years. She enjoyed preparing the students for concerts and Memorial Day Parades. After retirement she did Meals on Wheels in Rockland County, and was a member of the West Nyack II Seniors. Ruth was a fantastic athlete, a talented musician and was loved by all.

A mass will be held at St. Francis of Assisi's Church located 128 Parrott Rd, West Nyack, NY 10994 at 11:30am October 18, 2025.
