

He was born on June 4, 1945 in the Bronx. After earning degrees from Hunter College and CCNY, he was a social studies teacher in the South Bronx for 33 years.He thoroughly enjoyed his retirement and occupied his time by traveling, watching anything sports, several fantasy baseball leagues being commissioner of one, gardening, dedicated listener of Sunday morning Breakfast with the Beatles on 104.3, daily multiple crossword puzzles which were always completed in ink and creating his own design of "Shellart" made out of seashells.
He is predeceased by his parents Berton and Gussie Malovany, sister Rosaline and brother-in-law Gerald Dunn. He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Loretta, his sons Daniel (Janine) and Matthew (Jill) and granddaughters Bridget and Raquel, who gave him much pride and happiness. Also surviving him are his sister-in-law Claire Groeber and brother-in-law in Germany, Karl (Ilse) Groeber; nephew Andrew (Mona) Dunn and niece Beth (Lance) Goodman, as well as many cousins and friends.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to St. Jude's Children Hospital or Shriner's Hospital would be appreciated.
Visitation will be on Thursday, November 3, from 3PM - 7PM at Higgins Funeral Home,113 Lake Road Congers, NY 10920.
