

Thomas Gallagher, 80, of Woodcliff Lake, NJ, formerly of Pearl River, NY passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 19th, surrounded by his loving family. Tom retired from the New York City Police Department (34th Pct) after 27 years with the rank of Detective. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Predeceased by his beloved wife, Beverly, he is survived by his six children, Thomas (Robyn), Debbie, Patty Leahy (Bill), James (Theresa), Susan Cowie (Paul) and Robert (Kristen) and 13 grandchildren, T.J., Kyle, Brian, Erin, Megan, Lauren, Deirdre, James, Ryan, Kelly, Madelyn, Colin and Jack. Tom was born in the Bronx on March 26, 1935 to the late Thomas and Mary Gallagher (Sullivan) and brother of the late Catherine Stack. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed traveling. He lived life to its fullest and was an extraordinarily generous man who will be deeply missed.Family will receive visitors on Thursday, May 21, 2015, from 2-4 and 7-9pm at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Home, New City, NY. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Anthony's RC Church, 199 Walnut St, Northvale, NJ on Friday, May 22, 2015 at 10am.
