

Thomas G. Minton, beloved husband, Dad, father-in-law, and friend, passed away suddenly on February 13th, 2021. A Rockland County, NY resident since 1983, he is predeceased by his wife Kathleen (nee Riviello) and survived by his son James and daughter-in-law Maria, Uncle Richard, Aunt Mary, nephews David and Matthew, niece Allison, and many cousins.
Tom was born to Charles and Mary in the Bronx on January 26, 1947. After high school, he was drafted into the U.S. Army and proudly served from 1966-1968 at Fort Sill, OK, initially as an Artillery Surveyor and subsequently a stockade guard attached to the Military Police. Upon honorable discharge, he began working at New York Telephone, the start of a 40 year career in the telecommunications industry. Later in life, Tom returned to school and earned an Associate in Science degree from SUNY Empire State College. An avid NY sports fan, he loved watching and attending Yankees and Jets games. He also enjoyed social outings, conversation, gathering with family and friends, and coaching youth sports. Tom’s endearing presence will be greatly missed by those who knew him.
The family will receive guests on Friday from 4-8pm at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Service in Congers, NY.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 10am at the Church of St. Augustine, New City, NY. Interment will follow at St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery in Nanuet, NY.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Tom's honor to Disabled Veterans of America or AARP Foundation.
