

Walter J. Celli, “The Clock Doctor”, a longtime resident of Nanuet, passed away in the comfort of his home at the age of 82 on Sunday, September 23, 2012. He was born on April 6, 1930 in Manhattan, NY to Giuseppe and Victoria (Bertoglio) Celli. Walter served in the Merchant Marines and the Army Reserve from 1949-1957. He was an extremely dedicated Boy Scout Master and little league coach in the late 60’s. Walter worked for NY Bell Telephone Company for 30 years and turned a hobby he loved into a business where he was known as The Clock Doctor of Nanuet. He is predeceased by his wife, Emma Fuller Celli, son Steven Celli, mother Victoria Celli and father Giuseppe Celli. Walter was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by a daughter, Donna Fiorino, and son-in-law Victor Fiorino of NJ; three sons, Michael Celli of FL, Robert Celli of FL, and Peter Celli of Nanuet; two granddaughters, Cynthia Waters and Michelle Fiorino of NY, and a great grandson, Chace Waters. Walter was a kind and gentle man who loved the arts, classical music, and was a devoted lifelong New York Rangers fan. His memories will live on in the hearts of his family and friends forever. Visitation will be held at Higgins Funeral Home in New City, NY on Thursday, September 27 from 2-4pm & 7-9pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to United Hospice of Rockland or The American Cancer Society.
