

of Minneapolis died on Wed., 4/17/2013 at age 88, born 10/14/24. She was a graduate of Washburn High School class of 1943. She attended Grinnell College in IA, U of MN, and graduated from Hennepin Community College as a Drug/Alcohol Counselor. She was a member of the Big Sisters Organization of Greater Minneapolis and successfully mentored a Little Sister. Recognition awarded in 1994 by the Big Sister Assn. She and her family enjoyed numerous pets; dogs, cats, sheep, goats, etc. on their “Will-O-Winds” hobby farm near Excelsior, MN. She and Don retired to Grand Rapids, MN for 10 yrs. After being widowed and upon return to Minneapolis, she was given Senior Volunteer Award by Community Education-Robbinsdale Schools in 2000. She founded and participated in 2 local AARP Widow Persons Service groups. Her philosophy, “Animals always seem to make more sense than people.” Preceded in death by her loving husband, Donald Louis Meyer, parents, Judge Frederick B. Wright, Jr. & Dorothy Belle Wright. Survived by children, Lisa (Arthur) Tweten, Barbara (Kevin) Stephenson, Donald “Chip” (Jennifer); brother, Fred B. (Martha) Wright III; 6 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. Burial on Mon., 4/22, 12:30 PM at Lakewood Cemetery, Minneapolis. Service to follow at 2 PM at SummerWood of Plymouth, 16205 36th Ave. N., Plymouth. Memorials preferred.
