Annabelle (Romero) Romero

NEW IBERIA – A Funeral service will be conducted for Mrs. Dorres Lucius Romero, age 89, the former Annabelle Romero at 3:00 pm Thursday, September 24, 2020 at Evangeline Funeral Home with Fr. Ed Degeyter. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 10:30 am until time of service on Thursday at Evangeline Funeral Home. A rosary will be prayed by the Men’s Rosary Group at 11:00 am.

A native of Youngsville and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Romero passed away at 9:12 am on Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at her residence surrounded by her family.

Annabelle loved to sew, garden, decorate, play cards and cook and spend time with her family.

She and her husband, Dorres enjoyed camping and were able to visit all of the National Parks in the US as well as in Alaska.

She leaves her family and friends with fond memories that will be cherished for a lifetime.

Mrs. Romero is survived by her children, Sherry Bell and husband Cliff; Barry Romero and wife Debra and Lori Guillory and husband Kevin; grandchildren, Beau Romero and Jamie; Karen Maldonado and Ray; Merrick Romero and Christie; Simone Strong and Charlie; Taylor Guillory; Karli Guillory and Nicole Bell; great grandchildren, Hailey Romero; Jaxson Romero; Jameson Romero; Luke Romero; Andrew Romero; Joseph Romero; Evie Strong; Ellie Strong; Ray Maldonado; Isabel Maldonado; Victoria Hubbard and Christopher Paulson.

She is also survived by her siblings, LJ Romero and Brenda; Hazel Bonin and Luke and Gene Romero and Lyndel and two sister in laws, Jeanelle and Juanita.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dorres Lucius Romero; her son, Marcus Romero; her parents, Adam and Victoria Rabeaux Romero and two brothers, Howard Romero and Fred Romero.

Pallbearers will be Barry Romero, Merrick Romero, Kevin Guillory, Charlie Strong, Cliff Bell and Mike Romero.

Luke Bonin will serve as honorary pallbearer.
