

NEW IBERIA – A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted for Mrs. Daniel G. Silas, Jr., the former Anne Barousse, age 74, at 10:00 am Monday, June 26, 2017 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church with Fr. William Blanda officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 8:00 am until 9:30 am on Monday at Evangeline Funeral Home.
A native of New Iberia and resident of Lake Charles, Formerly of New Iberia, Mrs. Silas passed away at 10:45 am on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at her residence.
Mrs. Silas was a 1960 graduate of Mt. Carmel Academy and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
She was a devoted Catholic who believed strongly in her religious upbringing.
Anne traveled across the world with her husband and family. She enjoyed needlepoint as a past time, but took pride in the title of Author and Story Teller. Anne spent lots of time researching her ancestry and storytelling.
She is survived by her four sons, Steven L. Silas, MD of Nashville, TN; Timothy P. Silas and wife Krystan Maranda Silas of North Vernon, IN; Daniel G. Silas, III of Lake Charles and Matthew A. Silas and partner Stephen Cangelosi of New Orleans; seven grandchildren, Meghan East; Erin Garrett; London Silas: Sterling Silas; Grace Silas; Kaison Blaine Silas and Timothy Gage Silas and four great grandchildren, Tristan East; Liam East; Owen East and Evie East.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel G. Silas, Jr.; parents, Lawrence and Louise Drago Barousse, Sr.; one brother, Lawrence Barousse, Jr. and one sister, Mary Ellen Barousse.
Pallbearers will be members of the family.
